From Agadir: Small Desert Day Trip

Your adventure begins with pickup from your hotel around 8:30 AM in a 4×4, driving towards the fishing village of Sidi R’bat. Explore hidden fishermen’s caves and stroll along the quiet wild beach.

Continue with an off-road drive by the ocean, crossing sand dunes and rugged tracks. Stop by the Massa River, a great spot for birdwatching, before reaching the old walled city of Tiznit. Here you’ll have a short break to walk the Medina and discover its famous Berber silver jewellery.

Afterwards, head into the Atlas foothills for a traditional Moroccan lunch in a local home – tajine, couscous, fresh fruit, and mint tea. Vegetarian options are available.

In the afternoon, enjoy free time on the sand dunes with the option of a camel ride. Later, visit the Youssef Ben Tachfine Reservoir, where you can admire sweeping panoramic views, before returning to Agadir in the evening.

Itinerary

  • Pick up from the reception of your hotel in Agadir around 8h30 in the morning (8 o’clock for hotels in Taghazout).
  • First stop of the day at the pottery house to see one of the oldest decorative arts, consisting of objects made of clay and hardened with heat.
  • After 20 minutes of off road Rally along the atlantic ocean, we will make another stop to see the caved fishermen houses.
  • Another quick stop at the Souss Massa river to spot the migrating birds (possibility of spotting flamingos at the river).
  • A quick visit to the old walled berber city of Tiznit.
  • ​Lunch stop (Tajine + Couscous) at the locals’ house between the atlas mountains in Rsmouka.
  • Visit to the Small sahara of Rsmouka (possibility of camel ride tour in the mini sahara for an extra fee).
  • Visit to the waterdam of Youssef Ben Tachfine for beautiful panoramic scene.
  • ​Return journey back to your hotel, drop off at hotel around 5 o’clock in the afternoon.
